To make a long story short…

The last few weeks have been absolutely bonkers (hence the absence of posts). First, I drove down to Long Beach, CA to attend the annual California Library Association Conference…which was amazing, inspiring, and informative. Then, I drove home, and spent the night at my parent’s house before driving to Sacramento the next day in order to catch a flight to Idaho. My trip to southwest Idaho was equal parts vacation and job interview. My first interview and read-a-loud were conducted via Skype. The second round of interviews required a drug-test, face-to-face interview, a meeting with the Library Board of Trustees, and an abbreviated, 10 minute storytime session for members of the community. All in all, things went really well because I totally got the job! On Monday, December 2nd, I begin my exciting new career as a Children’s Librarian for a small, rural library in southwest Idaho. Yay, me! Now, all I need to do is finish up my current volunteer duties, and pack. Sigh. So much to do…so little time.
