Flannelboard: Gingerbread Men

I found the gingerbread men template online and used it for tracing purposes. I used colored felt to decorate the cookies, but wish I’d have made the effort to head to the craft store for ric-rac instead. This flannelboard set was created as part of my 2016 Milk & Cookies Storytime Crate but I did not sure it during my thematic storytime session.
Flannelboard: Gingerbread Men
Gingerbread cookies what a treat!
Now it’s time for me to eat.
First I’ll eat the one that’s red.
I’ll strat by nibbling on his head.
Next I’ll eat the one that’s blue.
I’ll start by biting off his shoe.
Third, I’ll eat the one that’s yellow.
Ummm, he’s such a tasty fellow.
Last, I’ll eat the one that’s green.
Do you think that’s awfully mean?
If you feel like making five flannelboard pieces you can try the following rhyme:
Flannelboard Rhyme: Five Gingerbread Men (or People)
Five little gingerbread men lying on a tray,
One jumped up and ran away.
Shouting “Catch me, catch me, catch me if you can …
I run really fast, I’m a gingerbread man!”
Four little gingerbread men lying on a tray,
One jumped up and ran away.
Shouting “Catch me, catch me, catch me if you can …
I run really fast, I’m a gingerbread man!”
Three little gingerbread men lying on a tray,
One jumped up and ran away.
Shouting “Catch me, catch me, catch me if you can …
I run really fast, I’m a gingerbread man!”
Two little gingerbread men lying on a tray,
One jumped up and ran away.
Shouting “Catch me, catch me, catch me if you can …
I run really fast, I’m a gingerbread man!”
One little gingerbread man lying on a tray,
He jumped up and ran away.
Shouting “Catch me, catch me, catch me if you can …
I run really fast, I’m a gingerbread man!”
No more gingerbread men lying on a tray,
They all jumped up and ran away.
Oh, how I wish they had stayed with me to play.
Next time I’ll eat them before they run away.
