I went a little overboard with bug themed felt board sets during my winter vacation and finally created the bee felt set of my dreams. I can’t recall where I found the bee template (it was not my own). If I find my way back, I will give credit as it is due.

I created a honeycomb template based on this pin I found on Pinterest. I had to free-hand draw a honeycomb, and was not super precise about lines and I think that’s pretty apparent. I’d recommend printing off a template if you own a printer.

I found an adorable rhyme on the blog Anne’s Library Life, and I’ll use this in future when I offer a bug themed storytime.

Math Minute Felt Rhyme: Five Little Bees
One little bee flew and flew.
He met a friend, and that made two.
Two little bees, busy as could be.
Along came another and that made three.
Three little bees wanted one more.
