Flannelboard: I’m a Little Valentine (via Perry Public Library)
I’m a little valentine
Red and white
with ribbons and lace
I’m a beautiful sight
I can say “I Love You”
One Valentine’s Day
Just put me in an envelope
And give me away!
Finger Rhyme: Heart (via Storytime Katie)
I put my hands together,
This is how I start
I curve my fingers right around
I’m a beautiful sight
And I can make a heart!
Flannelboard: Little Red Valentine (modified)(via Library Storytime ABC’s)
Little red valentine, I love you
Orange one says, “I do, too!”
Little orange valentine, I love you
Yellow one says, “I do, too!”
Little yellow valentine, I love you
Green one says, “I do, too!”
Little green valentine, I love you
Blue one says, “I do, too!”
Little blue valentine, I love you
Purple one says, “I do, too!”

Pink one says, “I do, too!”

Everyone says, “We do, too!”
Flannelboard: Who Should I Kiss Today? (modified) (via Storytime Secrets)
I have five little kisses that I want to give away
Who should I kiss today?
I’ll kiss frog!
(Count to five using this refrain using animals in order to avoid making children living in non-traditional households feel uncomfortable)
CRAFT: I Love You ASL Hand!

I fell in love with this simple craft when I first saw it on Pinterest (it was submitted to Spoonful by Barbara T. of Chandler, Arizona). I created my version by first tracing my hand on cardboard, and then using that template to trace dozens of copies. I cut out all of the copies and used various sized, handheld heart punches to create dozens of hearts. I used Microsoft PPT to create the text, and cut out those in strips.
REVIEW:
I prepared this storytime outline, and craft but did not conduct these storytime sessions due to a family emergency and extended leave of absence.
