CRAFT: Letter “Mm” Magnets!

Letter M Magnet

This week’s storytime craft was pretty easy to create. After a few aborted attempts at hand drawing an “M”-shaped magnet, I decided to use PowerPoint to create a quick template. I used clipart from around the web to add some flair. I cut everything out prior to storytime, and provided colored construction paper, crayons and markers.

REVIEW:

This week’s outreach storytime at the child development center went really well. Both groups of preschoolers enjoyed this week’s selection of read-a-loud stories. Hush, Little Monster and the monster-related extension activities were a big hit. In fact, the extension activities went over so well, that we ended up performing each one twice. I was somewhat hesitant to read Moonlight given the poetic nature of the text. So, I had the child narrate the tale instead…which was successful given the beautiful imagery and basic theme.
