CRAFT: Letter “Gg” Giraffe!

There are dozens of versions of the letter G/Giraffe alphabet craft (conduct an online search if you don’t believe me), and this is my version. I scanned the original, printed copies, and cut everything out prior to storytime. I cut down sheets of colored construction paper too, and let the preschoolers choose their own color. Crayons and markers were provided, and each child took advantage of the opportunity to personalize their craft. I was so excited to see such a colorful herd of giraffes.
REVIEW:
16 children from the Child Development Center, and 1 little girl from the neighborhood attended storytime at GBL2 on Thursday. The extension activities went over really well, and the children were delighted by the action rhyme “Green Say Go,” so we did it twice. The this week’s read-a-louds were a good choice, and the children got a kick out of looking for the green sheep, and mimicking animal noises. There’s a Billy Goat in the Garden is a beautifully crafted tale, I really recommend using it in any animal, farm, or ethnic folktale related storytime.
